A bear and a skunk are face down on a couch and complaining about being bored. A large bear in a lavender dress walks up to them and says they should go outside and play. The bear on the couch says they can’t muster the energy to leave the couch. The large bear in the lavender dress says they have a long list of chores they can do if they want. The bear and the skunk run out of the door. The bear says they are flooded with an overwhelming urge to explore the outdoors. The skunk wonders out loud if they might find a couch outside.

Mark & Zark by Dan Moynihan

Mark the purple-haired kid is standing on a field thinking, “Still no Zark.” Everything is pink and yellow and a ball hits Mark on the head. BOFF! Chez the pink-haired preppy dressed kid runs up to Mark who is laying on the ground and tells him to get his head in the game. Mark holds his heads and says he will once he knows where it is. Another kid with blue hair runs up to Mark and asks where Zark is. Mark looks up at her and tells her that he doesn’t know but that he is not here obviously.

Little Green Monsters by Tony Alioto

A green one-eyed monster is holding a yellow balloon. His friend, a yellow-haired one-eyed monster looks at the balloon. The monster gives it to his friend. His friend starts floating with the balloon. The monster grabs his friend’s feet and hangs on. The two monsters are back on the ground. The monster holds the yellow balloon and keeps an arm around his friend.

Mean Mosquito and Bumblebeezy are shocked to find Ground Bee in a hole they were digging. Ground Bee asks them what they are doing. Mean Mosquito says it’s all the fault of Bumblebeezy’s ridiculous treasure map. Ground Bee tells them if there was treasure in this town it would be the first to know about it. Mean Mosquito and Bumblebeezy apologize to Ground Bee and walk away. Back underground, Ground Bee rests on a treasure chest and breathes a sigh of relief and says,”I’ve really got to be more careful with my maps.”

Peter and Patty Cadaver, the two frankenstein-like siblings look up at a rider on a tall white horse with a fancy costume and a jack o’lantern for a head. Patty says, “Definitely a cat-lover.” There is a black cat popping out of the top of the pumpkin.

Colorado, check out Stan at the Grand Lake Pumpkin Patch Festivities on Friday, October 13. Stan will be reading his bedtime book THERE'S A ZOMBIE IN THE BASEMENT and doing zombie caricature commissions. The festival takes place at Grand Lake Town Square Park at 1025 Grand Avenue.
