What was your favorite comic, video, or cartoon character growing up?
old master Q comics, uncanny xmen, the smurfs, teenage mutant ninja turtles
What is your favorite thing to draw?
whatever is in my subconscience !
What art tools do you use to make your comics?
pencils and watercolor - do you know some pencils are hard and can make crisp, very thin lines, and that some are soft and can make dark wide squishy lines? sometimes you can even smear the squishy lines to make a smokey texture!
Where can readers find more of your books, comics, or stuff that you make or do?
i do digital coloring for lots of middle grade graphic novels. the newest book is Invisible, by Christina Diaz Gonzales and Gabrielle Epstein, and you can find it at your local book store or library! i worked on these books too: Stargazing by Jen Wang, American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang. (the TV show on Disney+ is coming in May!), the Sunny series by Jennifer and Matthew Holm, Diana Princess of the Amazons by Shannon and Dean Hale, and Victoria Ying, the Comics Squad #3. my picture books were published before many of you were born! so are out of print and hard to find now. but people have sent me a picture of Long Tail Kitty or Mr. Elephanter from their local library. i suggest starting there, or through bookstores online. mature readers, my autobio work Immortal Chicken is on Patreon. and casual updates @larkpien on instagram
Until next week, stay silly!
